Well, after a month of AdSense, it looks like I can cover my hosting expenses. That's good--that's all I really ask.
An interesting question for the tax experts out there: if I spend $X on hosting and software to blog, and I earn $Y from advertisements, can I deduct $X from my income tax (assuming that $Y is greater)? My intuition says yes, but that's never any help when it comes to tax law. If I'm earning money on my blog, I would assume that the expenses of keeping it up (such as they are) should be deductible as a business expense. On the other hand, the rules about hobby-businesses have never been very clear to me. Posted at 03:37 AM | Permalink | | | |
