We shipping off our trade show booth this week for a conference in San Francisco. That, combined with a fairly full schedule of meetings, has made for a slow blogging week.
On the other hand, an article I wrote last week, Two Americas , was picked up by Andrew Sullivan's weblog . This graph shows the impact a high-traffic blog can make on a site like little 'ol mine: ![]() An extra 2,000 or so visitors over a few days, maybe 20% of whom stuck around long enough to read at least one other article. Of course, this is nothing like the time when I was slashdotted , and got about 30,000 visits over the course of three days. I understand Instapundit will drive spikes of 45,000 visitors or more. Listing an article in Carnival of the Capitalists usually leads to a couple hundred visits. As for myself, I just write because my brain leaks and the thoughts have to go somewhere. I hope you find it useful, and maybe even sometimes enlightening. Posted at 03:37 AM | Permalink | | | |
