Hello? Anybody home?


She Who Puts Up With Me took Scooter for a camping and canoeing trip this weekend. That left me with the twins, and my father graciously watched them for the afternoon. For about five hours, I was all by myself in the house.

This isn't something which happens too often, especially on a weekend. I think She had visions that I would complete many minor (and some not so minor) fix-up chores, but it was not to be. My first priority was a major stock-up trip for groceries, which took a couple hours. Another hour to put the groceries away and grab some lunch. Whoops, only two hours left before I was back in full-time Dad mode.

Two hours isn't a lot of time to get any of the major chores done like wallpaper the bathroom; a task which will require removing the toilet tank and a not insignificant amount of cleaning, too. So, I did what most people would do in this situation.

I went to check out the new Ikea store which just opened in town.
