I'm glad to see that the excellent Harry Potter audiobooks are now available in iTunes. For those not familiar with them, these are some of the best audiobooks I've ever heard. We've enthralled the kids for many hours in the minivan using just the power of an actor's voice and imagination.
But what's up with the price? Fifty bucks for the most recent book? That's more expensive than getting the physical CDs at Costco, and only a couple bucks cheaper than Amazon.com. It only takes a few minutes to rip the CDs into iTunes, and as a bonus the CDs have none of that obnoxious DRM. So I'm glad it is available, but I'm not going to bite. For me, the right price is around $29.95 through iTunes, which seems about right for everything you give up with the crippled (DRM) digital files that the iTunes Music Store supplies.
