I've gotten connected with a group of people sending a bus down to Houston to bring back 10-20 families. Nobody really knows who or what they'll find when they get there, since the official aid agencies don't seem to be interested in coordinating with private citizens looking to host families (go figure).
But there is a chance that by tomorrow afternoon we'll be hosting a displaced family. If that doesn't pan out, Scooter's school is trying to bring up families from a sister school in New Orleans, and we may be able to host a family through that program, too. Posted at 10:26 AM | Permalink | | | |
